![]() The thing is that the OT does things that no other machine around does… I bought it pretty much for backing tracks, and use the arrangement like “ableton” kind of set… without ableton and a reliable device… And this achieved perfectly fine… The OT has some obvious limitations that oblige you to be creative, at the same time that a bit nerdy… at the begining I couldnt accept the 1 note poliphony per channel… Depending on what style of music you produce, you might be able to compose more often OTB… But for certain styles it´s clearly a pain… I think it really depends on each approach. If you don’t like it then there’s no real reason to keep it (and with supplies low I’m sure there’s a lot of people desperate to buy and love 2nd hand ones) but it’s worth thinking about what you’re losing.Īs a good example of Live/OT together it’s worth turning to the gear loving Matthew Dear ( and if I was being snarky I might say that I’ve had my guitar for 20 years and it STILL has the ‘breaking strings’ bug, and the ‘reverse playing’ function was never delivered… hurumph) ![]() There have been big jumps in OT functionality with the software updates so far, and yes there’s been little break while all the AK/AR stuff has been happening, but personally I haven’t used up every musical possibility the OT offers me in its current form, so I’m not actually ‘waiting’ for an update (And I use it in combination with Live when I’m in the studio) So yes pick-up machines suck, and there’s a few bugs here and there in the OT, and no it doesn’t do ‘everything’.īut it’s a very young machine when you think about it,Īnd for me it totally changed my approach to writing/playing live. but let’s remember it took until around 3 years until it got midi sequencing functionality!! and in terms of paying for updates every other year Live, Live 9 came 4 years later. I feel that sometimes people forget the history of Ableton Live, it appeared in 2001 and was super exciting at the time, really different way of working etc. Ok, i never usually have the urge to be drawn into these threads around ‘my OT sucks, I should sell it and go to ableton/mpc/push etc etc’, but this time i’ve just got to say … The MIDI side very much feels like an afterthought. It’s usually the case that I think of something neat to do with it only to find out that it won’t work like that. I wouldn’t be using soft synths.at all.Ĭ) Hah! Definitely not complete or I wouldn’t be thinking about ditching it!! It also does not need to be front and center at all times, you can simply use it for backing tracks or as a 4 input / 8 track digital FX boxĪ) Is there some really bad timing issues in Ableton? I can’t recall any but I imagine that if I had enough crap going on, there could be. The OT provides a set of limited but powerful tools you can master, and there is a forum full of people with the EXACT same limitations that you can learn from and refer to. A) write music and be able to perform with out depending on plug-ins and other timing/latency issuesī) want to spend your money on synths and other midi friendly gear rather than an expensive interface or outboard FX/processing,Ĭ) want a complete hardware solution that can boot up faster than any pc/mac

If your team fails to make your contract, subtract 10 points for every trick you bid from your total score.Play the BEST Spades card game on your iOS device, made by MobilityWare - the #1 card and parlor game developer! For every trick you won above the total in your contract, add 1 point to your total. ![]() At the end of a round, if you and your partner managed to win at least the number of tricks in your contract, multiply the number of tricks in your contract by 10 points. Keep playing like this until everyone is out of cards. The winner of the trick collects the 4 cards, then plays the next leading suit. If the leading suit isn’t spades, and one or more spades have been played, the player with the highest spade wins the trick instead. Once all 4 players have gone, the player with the highest card in the suit that led wins the trick. If you don’t have a card in that suit, you can play any card from your hand. After the first player leads, the rest of the players take turns playing a card in the same suit if they have one. However, players can’t lead with spades until a spade has been used to trump a leading suit. That player can play a card in any suit from their hand. Once both teams have a contract, the round starts with the player to the left of the dealer. Let each player announce how many tricks they think they’ll win, which is called their bid. Keep in mind that spades trump every suit, regardless of what suit leads. To win a trick, you need to have the highest card in the suit that leads. Then, take a look at your cards and estimate how many tricks you think you can win that round. Have the dealer deal 13 cards to each player. Whoever draws the highest card deals first. To start the game, each player draws a card. To score points, try to win the number of tricks that you and your teammate bid at the beginning of the round. The goal of the game is to be the team that reaches 500 points first. Spades is a strategic card game that’s played with two teams of two. ![]() They’re velvet-y booths that are tall enough, to offer you enough privacy that the person next to you can’t peep at the dance you’re getting. Although smoking is allowed indoors, the layout is such that it’s not overwhelming, unless you walk into it, or are next to the person smoking. It’s pretty spacious with comfortable chairs from the stage area on back. I was pleasantly impressed with the set up. ![]() I’ll tell you from personal experience that not every strip club in this area does that. If you don’t want a dance, you could probably get away with bringing $40-to cover entry, a few sodas (it’s all nude, so no alcohol), and tips for the servers who get your drinks and bring it you. I was the only woman in our group and we still can’t tell if they had a better time, or if I did. There was a $20 cover, but it was worth it. I went here with about 5 or 6 friends to celebrate. I can’t honestly say that I had a good chance to check them all out, though, since I was approached so aggressively from the very beginning. This is definitely on the “once only” list for me. Had to say no to these since I had already exceeded my budget, but they did not like taking no for an answer (and almost wouldn’t).The staff is friendly, and the girls look good. Then, after we got back out to the floor, more girls were coming at us, very aggressively. ![]() Now, I thought tipping was something that you got to decide based upon how much you enjoyed the service, but not here. It’s my fault for not saying “no” and spending too much, but I don’t like to feel pressured into it either. Not only that, but we were quoted a price for tips too. We hadn’t been sitting down very long before some of the dancers were sitting on our laps, taking us on the $5 tour to “see” the rooms, and before you know it, we’re being quoted prices for the rooms. Unfortunately, there was no relaxing here. Maybe it’s just me, but when I go to a strip club, I like to relax and have a good time.
